As the academic year drew to a close the college held two important events to help our students realise their university aspirations.

The CTC Oxbridge Day, run by Oxbridge Applications, was attended by seven CTC students and 11 students from other local schools. They had a series of lectures about applying to Oxford and Cambridge, a tutorial run by Oxbridge graduates in their subject area, a talk by an admissions tutor about and a mock interview with feedback. They all found it extremely useful.

The CTC Higher Education Fair saw 12 universities attend including Kings College London, Bristol, Bath, Southampton, Surrey and Lancaster. Others included UEA, Cardiff, Royal Holloway, Sussex, Kent and Queen Mary London. There was also a careers adviser from Inspiring Futures in attendance.The students had two hours to talk to the reps, ask questions and collect prospectuses. The feedback from the universities was that the students were really well informed, asked lots of insightful questions and the event was really well run. The students also had a talk beforehand about interview skills from education consultant   Valerie Simpson.
