DofE Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is an international programme operating in around 100 countries. We have been running the programme at Cambridge Tutors College very successfully for a number of years. The aims of the Duke of Edinburgh Award closely reflect those of the college.
The aim of the award is to give young people an opportunity to experience new activities and develop new and existing skills. There are three levels of the Award: Bronze, Silver and Gold, each requiring an increasing degree of commitment and responsibility.
The award is highly regarded by universities and employers as a way of providing evidence of students’ willingness to be involved in activities outside of their academic life.
Why do your DofE? From the first day to the last it’s a real adventure. Every section gives you something different – that’s the fun of it!
You’ll enjoy lots of new experiences, discover talents you never thought you had, challenge yourself and make friends. You’ll do things you love and get a real sense of satisfaction.
…achieving an Award will give you skills, confidence and a view on life that everyone is looking for, from employers to colleges and universities.
…you’re getting recognised for doing things you want to do.
…you’ll make a difference to other people’s lives and your community, be fitter and healthier, make new friends and have memories to last you a lifetime.
And above all, it’s a great laugh – and doing your DofE really does give you the skills for life and work.
Students will take part in two trips involving team work, planning and undertaking an expedition and camping overnight as well as participating in volunteering activity.
All our activities are supervised by a team of highly experienced college staff.
