GCSE Course

From September, students accepted on the Pre-Sixth GCSE course at CTC will study a range of subjects in just one year and sit externally assessed examinations (GCSE’s) in the following May and June. There is a good variety of subjects on offer but please note that Mathematics and English are always compulsory. Students on this particular course usually take up to 6 different subjects, striving to attain top grades in preparation for A’Level success.

The level of English language required on this course for non-native speakers will be approximately 5.0 IELTS or equivalent.

• Mathematics and English Language (compulsory) with Literature (optional)
• Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science
• Geography, History
• Art and Design
• Languages (e.g. German, Spanish, Italian or French)

Who is this course for?

This course is highly suitable for British students retaking their GCSEs or international students transferring to the UK who wish to obtain these qualifications. It also prepares students extremely well for continuing their education at A-Level at CTC, although automatic progression and participation is not guaranteed.
